The method taught across the three levels of the course.
Identify the OBD port pinout and the correct protocol for the vehicle. If the scanner reports no communication, check power and ground at the port and the K-line or CAN lines before suspecting a module.
Read every module, not just the engine. Record each fault code with its type, status and freeze frame, and save the report before you clear anything.
Compare the suspect sensor values against expected values at idle and under load. Live data tells you whether the code is the cause or only a symptom.
Use the actuation test, then measure the sensor or actuator and its wiring directly. This separates a harness fault from a failed part.
Clear the codes, complete the drive or readiness cycle, and rescan. The job is finished only when the fault does not return.
Every learner gets 7 days of free access to the complete course — all 16 lessons, PDF notes and quizzes.
